From left to right: Anton Yelchin as Chekov, Chris Pine as James T. Kirk, Simon Pegg as Lt. Montgomery Scott, Karl Urban as Dr. McCoy, John Cho as Sulu and Zoe Saldana as Uhura.

Well, finally we get some decent photos! Paramount have now put a new gallery up on the film's website. There is apparently going to be a huge PR push for the film starting in November and the new trailer is due to go out on the front of the U.S release of Quantum Of Solace on the 14th November. So for now, we have some lovely images of Zac Quinto as Spock, complete with what looks like the Vulcan nerve pinch, Kirk and crew on the bridge, various ship shots (the U.S.S Kelvin looks like it's bought it) and Eric Bana giving it large as a Romulan baddie? And dig that Classic Trek vibe! Hurray, shirts with black v-necks, short skirts and dodgy looking pants are all making a welcome return.

Thanks to Paramount and for these grand pictures.

Here's an interesting article in Entertainment Weekly about the film - but be warned there are plot spoilers in it. There are some very amusing comments on the site from die-hard fans whose feathers are well and truly ruffled. Nice gay cover, don'tcha think?

Would it be terribly shallow of me to say that I rather fancy Spock?

No. This is the terribly shallow queue. Please feel free to join.

Zachary Quinto is flippin' gorgeous. He's the only reason to keep watching 'Heroes' and he's going to be fab as Spock.

  3. Lucy 'Shallow' McGough says:

Spock was always my favourite Star Trek character. Who was yours?

PS - you are SO wrong about Heroes - what about all the gorgeous women who are also a reason to keep watching???? Not to mention Hiro Nakamura!

  4. FRANK says:

Lots of gorgeous men AND women in 'Heroes', Lucy but I'm afraid it's just getting dafter by the episode. It's bubblegum TV and that's great, and let's face it, it is miles better than 'Merlin' but I think it's going for desperate plot twists to keep the momentum up. Loved the first series to bits and this series IS better than the second series. And I'll keep watching for Zachary Quinto and Milo Ventimiglia!

  5. FRANK says:

Oh, and on the 'Star Trek' front, yeah Spock is da man. Can't wait for Zac's interpretation.

Secondly, McCoy just cos De Kelley was such a lovely fella.

  6. Lucy McGough says:

Perhaps that's the difference between US and British telly. The US has longer series and bigger casts, so the plot lines get more and more tangled, and attempts to keep all the characters busy get more and more desperate.

All you need is twelve episodes, one man, one woman and a police box.
